I usually stick to U.S. stories (50 states & territories) only, but this is newsworthy! :D

Many of the details are behind a paywall, but in one Australian state a bloke accused of resisting arrest was acquitted because the police officers were unable to articulate why he was being arrested in the first place. Cops are not the brightest bulbs on the planet.

Drunk not guilty of resisting police over ‘wrongful arrest’

A man charged with resisting two officers in the execution of their duty, injuring them both, has been found not guilty because they never told him why he was under arrest, a court has heard.

An 'extremely violent' man has been charged after allegedly assaulting two police officers during a dramatic arrest caught on bodycam footage. Police were called to a home in Buff Point on the NSW Central Coast on Tuesday night after reports of a domestic assault. Officers approached William Peter Kershaw at the residence, who allegedly spat in a male officer's face as police attempted to arrest him. The 35-year-old allegedly resisted arrest and became violent, saying 'I can't breathe' as officers worked to subdue him.
