Denver police officers beat a 60-year-old man who wasn’t suspected of a crime and then inaccurately described their actions in reports, according to a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday against the city. Attorneys for Aaron Hernandez said the officers used excessive force against Hernandez and arrested him on assault charges even though police officers were the instigators in the 2019 incident.
