Polk County police officer resigns after DUI arrest in Auburndale

A deputy with the Polk County Sheriff's Office has turned in his badge after he was arrested for driving under the influence. At around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday night, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on K-Ville Avenue near Pinter Road in Auburndale. Josiah Perry, 26, drove off the road in his Ford sport utility vehicle and flipped over. Police said he was unharmed in the crash.
