A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office corrections officer is charged with battery and improper exhibition of a firearm, Undersheriff Nick Burgos announced Thursday. Corrections Officer Brandon Freeman, 30, was arrested Thursday morning on the misdemeanor charges, Duval County jail records show. He bonded out in the afternoon, according to jail records. Burgos said at an afternoon news conference that JSO’s Integrity and Special Investigations Unit was notified of the case against Freeman, a five-year veteran of JSO, on Sunday. A Jacksonville Sheriff's Corrections officer was arrested for battery and improper exhibition of firearm over the weekend. Brandon Freeman, 30, was arrested July 17, said Undersheriff Nick Burgos at a press conference Thursday. Freeman has been with JSO around five years, Burgos said. "It happened on the Northside, near the boat ramp, some sort of fight," Burgos said. No more details were given. Freeman was released from jail Thursday on $2,506 cash bond. No pending court dates are set at this time.

A dispute with jet skiers on a sandbar that escalated to a physical fight that left one of the jet skiers injured led to the arrest of a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Corrections Officer, according to a warrant obtained Friday by News4JAX. Corrections Officer Brandon Freeman, 30, was arrested Thursday morning on misdemeanor charges of battery and improper exhibition of a firearm, his arrest warrant shows. Later that day, he bonded out of the Duval County jail, according to online jail records.
